Inspection and storage of samples received

The CIVR shall check the consignments of wines received and the official documents accompanying them, rectify any material errors and refuse samples that do not comply with the clauses of these regulations. He shall pay attention to the correct use of designations of origin or geographical indications and to the batch numbers of the packaged wines. The labelling of products produced in the EU Member States must comply with Community regulations and for third countries, with the regulations in force in the country of production. The organiser then divides the samples into series for tasting based on the characteristics given in the declarations provided for in the registration procedures, or of the characteristics observed if necessary.

The CIVR  shall store the samples in a secure room and under temperature and environmental conditions that guarantee their proper preservation.

The CIVR  organises the grouping of the wines for transport to the tasting venue in the United States.
