Grenaches du Monde 2026: the return of the competition to Roussillon

After electrifying Manhattan, charming Paris and once again uniting the Grenache world in Aragon, Grenaches du Monde is preparing for 2026 a shift as symbolic as it is eagerly awaited: its grand return to Roussillon. A choice that feels entirely natural for a competition that has, over the years, become one of the must‑attend events for the Grenache grape and its terroirs across the globe.

This return reflects the desire to anchor the 2026 edition in the historical cradle of Grenache, highlighting the richness of Roussillon’s wine landscapes, the expertise of its producers and the dynamic wine tourism that thrives there. The 2026 edition thus refocuses on what truly matters: a strong Mediterranean setting, streamlined and efficient logistics, and professional encounters designed to encourage conviviality and meaningful exchanges.

The jury, composed of approximately 80 international experts, will select the best wines made from the Grenache grape variety in Cariñena (Zaragoza) on May 5 and 6.

While the precise location and operational details will be revealed in February, the main themes are already defined: an edition built on modernity, respect for major industry challenges, local gastronomic and tourism excellence, and deep reflection on sustainability — now an essential subject for all wine professionals.

Remaining true to its itinerant spirit, the competition will once again bring together international judges, producers, sommeliers, journalists and buyers from around the world. With this 2026 edition, Grenaches du Monde is set to reconnect with its origins while offering Roussillon a first‑class showcase on the international stage.

This new edition confirms the ambition of the competition: to make Grenache a symbol of diversity, resilience and commercial vitality — a grape variety whose evolution and influence can be understood particularly well in Roussillon, one of its most meaningful stages.
