After checking the accuracy of the entries in each category based on the registration documents and certificates of analysis, the samples are grouped according to origin and type and will be presented to the juries in descending order of vintage, anonymously. In 2023, the bottles will then be re-sampled under argon before being sent individually to the tasters participating in the competition. Concerning the sparkling and still oxidative wines / dry Rancio type, these bottles cannot be resampled – for the sparkling wines because of the gas and for the oxidative wines because of the packaging which is generally small – they will be physically tasted, still in the USA, by a specific jury.
